Amazon Kindle E Book Reader Review

Amazon Kindle Review

Why Does the Amazon Kindle Lead the Arena?

The new Amazon Kindle may come as a pretty cool device, especially for those who cannot go out of the house without carrying a book with them. This e book reader was made to make reading easier and convenient for all the book enthusiasts out there. However, just like any other high-tech devices, the Amazon Kindle e book reader has its pros and cons too, and you will know more about that while going through this review.

Pros:

Cons:

Since the Amazon Kindle was released, it has given the book industry a considerable hope that it might be a way to revive the book market, which is currently facing increasing competition from digital media. As lots of people may have already owned plenty of gadgets, it is expected that it is easier to adapt reading on an e book reader such as the Amazon Kindle.

When first opening the Amazon Kindle e book reader, it was surprising to see that the background text was a dingy grey, when it should have been better if it had a white background. Not only would it have made the text look clearer but it would have made the device look more elegant. However, this feature makes it feel like reading a cheap mass-market paperback, which is a feature that makes it seem more comfortable due to its realism.

Through its wireless connectivity capabilities, the Kindle has made ordering books wirelessly, easier. Moreover, book downloads cost only $9.99- cheaper than most paperbacks.

For some book readers, the highlight feature is one of the main perks for this device. Unlike paperback books, if you decide that certain text is not as important anymore you can easily highlight it and erase the highlight marks later. Unfortunately, in the Amazon Kindle, highlighting is far more difficult due to its clunky scroll wheel, which will make someone choose not to highlight anything instead. It has on the other hand, a note-taking feature which is very helpful, and a definite improvement over a physical book. For students, they might find something on their downloaded books that is quotable and may be used in writing a paper. But since Amazon Kindle has no real page numbers, it might be difficult for them. Another perk of the Kindle is that the user may ask questions directly on the Kindle and you will receive at least 3 answers from researchers. However, the answers may not be suitable for in depth analysis as required by some student or the answers might simply require the reader to purchase the original physical book in order to get page numbers for parenthetical documentation.

These things alone will make you think twice if it is really helpful to purchase the Amazon Kindle or not. If you are a traveler who loves to read books, or a total bookworm who cannot leave the house without a booking in hand, then this device is definitely for you as you can take this anywhere, anytime. But if you are a student or someone who might use this to download books and look for references for future writing, then using the Amazon Kindle might be hard for you. Before purchasing, try to know more about it and find out if the cost of the Kindle is worth the features. If not, then you might consider using original paperbacks.

Despite the couple of “negatives” mentioned, the Amazon Kindle leads every device in the e book readers arena. With so many satisfied customers and new features being revised in a timely fashion, the Amazon Kindle is our first choice e book reader! To purchase one, click here.
